Magic and Media

“A dream doesn’t become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work.” — Colin Powell

Greetings All,

Things are heating up here in Las Vegas as we move toward summertime. Abbi and I are working away at many new projects, some of which are mentioned in the following few paragraphs.

MAGIC AND MEDIA BUZZ
Magic is hotter than ever, here in Las Vegas, and in the media. Here are a few reasons why.

  • People are hungry for reality television… Go figure!
  • Close-up and stand-up street-style magic have captured new audiences
  • People are discovering that magic is more than just tricks, but a real performance
    art.
  • Magic is an international language, transcending all cultural
    barriers.
  • Magic is visual appeals to all ages.
  • Magic is an “open secret,” though shrouded in mystery and secrecy throughout the ages. Now, interested students of the art can access the wisdom of the ages at the speed of
    Google.
  • YouTube clips are transforming the way we experience magic. More people are viewing YouTube clips than live shows. Times are a-changing, and here is how you, dear reader, are changing
    them!

Every time you click on one of our YouTube clips, or vote for me, or one of our friends online, you help our online presence grow and touch people with the magic we are co-creating.

Recently, I was voted Best Magician of the Year in an on line contest by a UK magic site. I want to offer a special thanks to YOU, my friends, for voting for me. It is an honor for me to participate in our magic community forums. For all the info, go here:

Exposure??
Celebracadabra news:

Many magicians were nervous that VH-1 would expose the secrets of magic. They have not, and they’re not going to. What they have EXPOSED is an entire new generation to the art of magic. Both magicians and laymen are seeing a real world behind the scenes look at what it takes to make magic entertaining in today’s media centered world. Magic is changing, and this show is leading that change.

Max Maven and I will be getting more air time now that a few of the weaker celebrities have been trimmed from the show. Look forward to the magic getting better, as well. Next is a way that you can get more up to date information on what’s happening…

Here is a new way to interface not only with me, but also many of the magic stars on the new hit reality series CELEBRACADABRA: VH-1 Famous Friends: A fun new way to interact online with the new stars of magic…

When you have a moment, please go to this website, and look at some of the exciting new information that VH-1 and all of us involved in CELEBRADABRA have cooked up for you. This is a place where I can answer your questions about the show, and just have fun with all of you!
http://www.famousvh1friends.com

Please remember to click on my friends and fans page. The folks from VH-1 are watching to see how much action each “famous friend” gets.

So, if you want to talk about Celebracadabra, or have any questions, remember to go to the website! Drop me a note at VH-1’s Famous Friends website.

TIMES ARE CHANGING
I thought you might like to know that starting with episode 5, Celebracadabra is moving to Thursday nights @ 10pm.
(Episode 4 will still air on Sunday, May 18 @ 9pm. Episode 5 will premiere 4 days later on Thursday, May 22 @ 10pm).

Remember, if you miss any of the episodes, you can download them from the iTunes store… Now you don’t even have to turn on your TV to see the magic!

EAST COAST FIRE AND MAGIC TOUR
You are invited to join us for some hot times ahead! Abbi and I will be going to a few fire festivals this summer, to share some of our Alchemical Fire Circle Magick.

June 4-8, Artemas PA – Fires Rising Fire Circle http://www.4qf.org

June 9th, Baltimore, MD, Magic at the Edge, Show & Lecture at Barry’s Magic Shop. For more info: magic@erols.com

June 10th, Baltimore MD, McBride’s Secret Session Workshop at Denny & Lee Magic Shop. For more info: Dennymagic@aol.com

We’ll hope to see you at one of these events.

It’s time to get back to work. I enjoy my work, and find inspiration in the words of Alex Rodriguez, who said:

“Enjoy your sweat because hard work doesn’t guarantee success, but without it you don’t have a chance.”

Yours in the art of magic,
Jeff
